Crochet Work/Hemp

Crocheting  is one of the oldest and most used handwork techniques in the world. It is one of those skills that is easy to teach and it doesn't require fancy equipment. This scill was introduced to South Africa via the settlers. Most women in south Africa can crochet.

I learned to crochet when I was only 5 years old. Up to today, I have employed and helped hundreds of women earn a living through crocheting. The moral of the story: do not despise the simple skills that you learn in life, they might come in handy one day!

Here at uSisi designs, we have crocheted with some wild and wonderful fibers and threads. Most of our crocheting had done with Copper wire in different thicknesses, Scoobie wire and Hemp string. We are constantly looking for new designs, fibers and products to do.
